“This year we donated a pair of almost new hearing aids that were un-returnable and un-saleable because they had been worn by one of our patients for an extended trial period. They were fit on a middle-aged female physician in India who had a congenital severe sensorineural hearing loss. She had always worked in charitable hospitals and had never worn hearing aids because of the cost. I found it hard to imagine how she coped all those years.”
